It seems as though it's been 47 years since we watched the last season of Outlander so I've decided to do a little refresh as I have no idea where we left off. A quick google search will give you a summary of the entire 7th season. I wish I had time to re-cap them all, but our multi-state move and helping care for the funniest, sweetest granddaughter in the world takes up much of my time. I've started with Season 7, Episode 14 because I thought 3 re-caps was a good number! So, LET'S GOOOOOOO!

We open with Lord John Grey and his brother Hal in Hal’s London drawing room.  Hal has gout and can’t go to America and he’s bragging that his son Henry is fighting for King and Country and William should go too.  Lord John convinces his brother to seek peace with the colonies and John vows to never accept American independence.

Back at Lord John's home in the colonies, Jamie’s repairing some of the damage William did during his conniption fit when he found out the truth about his parentage. Just then a pompous soldier named Lt. Buttiman barges in past Mrs. Fig and says there will be a dinner with General Washington in the home that evening and congrats Mrs. Fig you're going to cook it.

Claire’s out shopping in the market when a wagon knocks the veggies from her basket and she bumps into the tres charmante Marquis de Lafayette.  He apologizes and says he will send her a cheese because America’s food is how you say in English 'disgusting!'

It’s the night of the dinner and various American officers are bantering and insulting each other around the table, when Jamie does his Jamie thing and changes the subject to calm their asses down. He tells them his nephew Ian is a scout and has discovered British soldiers are much closer as Clinton’s camp is in New Jersey.  A messenger name Percy Beauchamp arrives with a message for Lafayette.  Washington gives Claire an American flag sewn by Betsey Ross which I have to admit is pretty cool and they should keep it in the family cuz it'll be worth more than IBM shares in a couple hundred years.

Brianna is back at Lallybroch and finds a note that the electrician has come and gone.  There are lights on in the upstairs indicating a burglar is lying in wait.

Ian has returned from his scouting trip into the arms of his new wife.  Their honeymoon is definitely not over.

General Lee who’s a real Debbie Downer stays after the party to whine about his life to Jamie but he finally goes home and Jamie’s back upstairs with Claire.  I’m quite sure Claire was teacher’s pet in school because she's a human encyclopedia. In today's lesson, she explains to Jamie that nobody knows General Lee but Lafayette will go down in history because he brings French troops who help win the war.

William has returned to camp and takes a message from General Clinton to General Richardson who berates him because his uniform's a mess.  Richardson writes on the note and re-seals it with fancy wax.  William’s back in his tent when Jane shows up with her little sister Frances, they’ve come to William for protection because Captain Harkness returned to Ye Olde Ho-House and they fear for their lives.  Also Jane stole back William’s gorget/large jewelry thingie (that he used to save her from Harkness) and returns it to him.

Badass Brianna returns to her home with a loaded rifle and creeps through the woods to the front door of Lallybroch.  She counts two men in her house.  Just then Ernie, the most clueless man on planet earth, drives up with her children.  He stops the van and lets her kids out, she shoves them back in the van while shooting at the men as Ernie struggles to start the engine. Man what a loser. As they speed away Rob Cameron pulls up.  Cameron had come to Ernie and Fiona’s home so they drove to the remote Lallybroch to check on Briana rather than go to the police station. I shouted at the tv to tell Ernie and Fiona they're idiots but they didna seem to hear me.

At the British camp, William has arranged for Jane to work as his laundress while he’s on a road trip for the army.

Jamie is drilling his verra green troops and he stops and talks to a couple of them and they’re adorable.  I hate when they make me like minor characters because I know there’s a good chance the writers are planning to kill them off so I refuse to bond with them no matter what!

Claire is running the medical tent, seeing patients and being a bad ass as usual.  She sees Lord John in line for medical treatment and she calls Jamie over and John surrenders to him.  John is taken home under house arrest and Claire begins to treat his eye. Jamie returns home and he and John get into it.  IMO Jamie is a little more cranky than the situation calls for.  Claire’s treatment is to grab John's eyeball and turn it while Jamie holds him down.  #Ew

Back at the camp, Jane who is a persistent woman, scampers into Williams tent and attempts to seduce him as a thanks for all he’s done for her.  Instead of boinking, they have a philosophical talk about what they both want, he lies and says he doesn't want her and tells her to leave.

Before bed, Ian talks to the spirit of his father. Rachel comes into the room and Ian teaches her how to put on his war paint.  They really are the sweetest couple.

As Brianna and family are escaping, Ernie’s van stalls again and instead of taking responsibility, Ernie begins yelling at the van.  Ernie tells Brianna to go to Boston where Roger is, except Roger’s in 1700-something but it’s the first smart thing he’s said.  Brianna who’s the brains of the operation works on the engine and gets it started. She tells Fiona she and the kids are going to find Roger.

At the English camp, William asks why Jane is so eager to leave the camp.  She tells him that the disgusting sex pervert/pedofile Captain Harkness came back to rape Francis and she couldn’t let that happen so when he began to rape Francis, Jane stabbed him to death.  Personally I think she deserves a medal. William asks her to stay and she does.

Captain Richardson tells William he must deliver a letter to a Hessian officer and the success of this battle depends on it.

Lord John’s eye is getting better.  Percy Beauchamp arrives at the home to speak with John.  Turns out they are step brothers, former lovers and frenemies. Percy has heard through the grapevine that Richardson has set up William and when he delivers the letter to Colonel Klink he will be held and tortured.  Man I love Lord John and wish we could see more of him.

Lord John tells Jamie that Percy Beauchamp/Percival Wainwright discovered the plan to hurt/kill William.   Jamie paroles John and John and Ian set out to go save William.

William rides into the Hessian camp and delivers the note that says to kill him.   Hans Gruber reads the note, twirls his mustache, gives William the evil eye and invites him to supper. And that's all there is to this episode. Stay tuned for the next recap!

I don't know about you guys but I am so excited to see the 8th and final season. The next two re-caps will be out as soon as I can write them. It's been fun to get back at it and I hope you've enjoyed this one!
