Jamie agrees to give Brianna and Roger some gold bars to buy rifles from the Swamp Fox, Francis Marion. Lord John asks Brianna to come visit and paint a portrait of Amaranthus. First they travel to Savannah to see Marsali and Fergus with the gold bars hidden in a wooden crock under a bottle of Jamie’s hooch and some stinky sauerkraut. Fergus has received a message from Lord John to meet with John’s frenemy Percival Beauchamp. Someone throws a rock through their window, barely missing Brianna. Brianna and Roger head out to Lord John’s and the Continental Camp.

Jamie has confirmed many of his tenants are Tories so he’ll need to recruit more men to fight with him. He’s taking Ian and Josiah with him. In one of the camps they recruit 3 young men and Ian meets a man who knows Brianna and Roger. Turns out its Buck Mackenzie who has traveled through time to let them know he has killed Rob Cameron and retrieved Roger's book.Â
Its a dark and windy night and Claire and Fanny are home alone. The home is making excessively creepy noises and I personally wouldn’t stay there without a weapon stuck in my belt and some Ring cameras for protection. As Claire is closing a window, she sees Mrs. Cunningham rushing to the front door. She bursts in and collapses in a chair swearing like a drunken sailor. Alas she has dislocated her shoulder which I know a thing or two about. (Just for fun, I did that last year and IMO, she wasn’t screaming nearly enough.) Elspeth Cunningham has an interesting conversation with Fanny about Fanny's earlier years living in a brothel and gee I love both of their characters.Â
The next morning, the traitor Charles Cunningham, shows up to fetch his mother. He makes veiled threats about Claire’s safety as Jamie is out of town. His mother doesn’t seem to appreciate his threats and rudeness and Claire tells Chuck that Jamie will be home at any moment.Â

Brianna arrives at Lord John’s home and sees William. Lord John is very happy she's there but Amaranthus is a jealous B and hightails it out of the room. Lord John makes an excuse to leave the room so the Fraser siblings can talk alone. Next morning, William approaches Amaranthus to see why she has a bee in her bonnet. She admits she’s jealous of Brianna and William is like ‘woah dude, she’s my sister.’ They have a little chat about his parentage and after she finds out he wants to renounce his title, she says, ‘Hey, I know what. Let’s get married and you can give your title to our first born. Amaranthus is many things, but shy is not one of them.

Fergus arrives to meet Percival Beauchamp who tells him the Count St. Germaine was his bio-dad who drugged and sold his pregnant mother Amelie to a whorehouse when he tired of her. At the brothel where he grew up Fergus knew a woman named Amelie and she did not like him. Turns out Amelie and the Count were married and Fergus is his rightful heir and worth a lot of money if he sells some land to the French. Back home, Fergus tells Marsali what he learned about his parentage.Â

Lord John and Brianna are in his home with cannons firing in the distance. Lord John is hoping Brianna will help William adjust to being the bio-son of the strapping red-headed hunk, Jamie Fraser. He's also curious about what Roger is doing on the outskirts of town but Brianna keeps mum about her hub. Â
Back home on Fraser’s Ridge, Jamie, Ian and and another rider approach the house and Mandy and Jem are very excited to see it’s Buck MacKenzie and they fly off the porch to hug him. Â

Rachel is outside Sam Drucker’s General Store when she sees a newspaper headline about an Indian massacre on the Susquehanna River. She realizes Ian’s son and first wife may have been killed. When Ian arrives home, Rachel tells him about the massacre. He says he must go check on his son and first wife. Rachel says she and the baby will go with him. As they leave Jamie says a blessing over them.

Roger arrives at the encampment and speaks to Francis Marion. At first he says he’ll help them gather weapons but when he realizes that Jamie Fraser is Roger’s father-in-law he changes his mind. He won’t help because Jamie resigned at the end of a battle and also Roger is now their prisoner unless he wants to help them fight. Rog says he’s no Annie Oakley, but does anyone have a sword?Â
Wow, I love this final season. They sure cram a lot into each episode and I don't want it to end. What do you all think? Do you trust Amaranthus? Do you trust Percival Beauchamp? Do you trust Frank Randall? I, personally trust NO ONE!
